Bellarmine Knights Advance in NCAA Division II Tournament

NCAA DII First Round

Bellarmine (25-6) held off Kentucky Wesleyan to advance to the second round of the NCAA Division II Tournament. Bellarmine jumped out to a nine-point halftime lead and never looked back in the victory. The Knights were led by Nick Holmes with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Justin Benedetti came up big with 18 points. Braydon Hobbs and Kevin Allen chipped in 11 points, each. Hobbs added 7 of the team's 16 total assists.

Kentucky Wesleyan finishes its season at 19-9. The Panthers picked up 24 points from T.J. Smith and 15 from Trey Harris.

Bellarmine advances to play Lake Superior State in the second round. The Knights set a school record for most wins in a season. The win was the team's first in the NCAA tournament for the since 1989.

Go Bellarmine! They should be in the NCAA D-II Tournament championship game instead of Findlay, the team was only able to beat BU in OT with the help of some serious "homer" officiating.
