KHSAA Sweet Sixteen Preview: Central vs. Eastern

Game 10: Central (17-14) vs. Eastern (31-2) 1:30 p.m.

The second quarterfinal game features a matchup between Central and Eastern. Central will be a sizable underdog in the game and they lost to Eastern by 23 points a few weeks ago.

In the first round, Central held on to defeat Graves County by a bucket. Central relies on the strong inside presence of 6'4" Ridge Wilson, who averages 14.7 points a game. Senior guard Alex Morrison is Central's top scorer at 15.4 points a game.

Eastern sent a very good Corbin team home in the first round by a score of 75-61. Eastern will be most everyone's pick to advance to the championship game on Saturday night. In the Corbin game, Chris Dowe exploded for 27 points. Dowe averages 14.2 points a game for the Eagles.

My Thoughts: Eastern is clearly the favorite in this one. They already own a huge victory over Central and they are playing superb basketball right now. Central will need a huge game from Wilson and Morrison if they are to keep this one close.

Prediction: I would have a difficult time picking against Eastern in this one. I expect a double figure victory for the Eagles
