NCAA First Round
A nice run for former Kentucky Wildcats coach Tubby Smith and his Minnesota Golden Gophers came to an end today against the Texas Longhorns. Texas star A.J. Abrams scorched the nets for 26 points, including 8 three-pointers in the victory. Texas (23-11) moves on to the next round where they will face the second-seeded Duke Blue Devils.
Minnesota was led by Lawrence Westbrook with 19 points. Their season ends with a record of 22-11.
My Thoughts: Tubby is a great coach and it was good to see him guide Minnesota to the tournament. Kudos to Tubby Smith!
