Transylvania's Joey Verax and Coach Brian Lane Receive Honors

Transylvania basketball added two honors recently as Joey Verax was named Heartlands' Conference Player of the Year and head coach Brian Lane was named the conference's Coach of the Year.

Verax picked up the honor after leading the team in scoring (16.2 PPG) and rebounding (5.8 RPG). This is the third straight season that he has been on the All-HCAC First Team. Verax was joined by teammate Aaron Cash on the First Team. Fellow Pioneers Brock Jones and Tim Tierney where selected as honorable mention picks.

Transy Coach Brian Lane was named Heartlands' Coach of the Year after leading his squad to a 21-5 record, tournament championship and NCAA Division III tournament birth. This is the third time that Lane has received the honor.
