A few days ago, I felt like John Calipari might be putting all of his eggs in the John Wall basket. Now, it appears that he might be working on a backup strategy. Today, Calipari visited Eric Bledsoe, the best point guard option available after Wall.
Calipari's interest in Bledsoe would seem to indicate (in my opinion):
a) He is trying to get both Wall and Bledsoe, and is selling Bledsoe on a long-term future with Kentucky
b) He is making sure that a backup plan is in place in case Wall chooses another school
While Wall is clearly the best available player in the nation, Bledsoe would certainly not be a disappointing get. Bledsoe is a five-star point guard that ranks #23 on the Rivals150 list. He has stated that Florida is his current leader, but he has also shown strong interest in Kentucky. Some have speculated that Bledsoe does not enjoy being the second option behind Wall in Kentucky's eyes.
Either way, it is likely becoming painfully obvious to the rest of the SEC that John Calipari is a master recruiter and that he is tireless on the recruiting trail.
A few other notes:
- Calipari visited Bledsoe and then headed to New York; the site of the Jordan Classic tomorrow

- Xavier Henry seems to be going back-and-forth between Kansas and Kentucky; this could be a big story over the weekend

Coach Cal, don't take em all, leave some for the University of Texas please.
Come on D Jennings, let us have a few of the top recruits!
BEWARE THE CATS ARE BACK!!!!!!!
If Bledsoe doesn't think he's a 2nd option in the eyes of every D1 school out there (as long as Wall is available) then he's drinking KoolAide! I'd say out of the schools with a need for a point guard, UK is the biggest name out there at the moment. He needs to be patient....he could end up getting a very good gig for the next 3-4 years.
Bledsoe is the 2nd option for Florida too!
Coach Cal started recuriting Eric Bledsoe more than months ago and I wonder where Cal was coaching at this time. The thing was that he didn't think he was going to get John Wall to come to Memphis but Wall said he wouldn't come too Memphis if Evans did not go pro.Well Kentucky dosen't have this problem being that Evan's is still in Memphis I think, unless he has gone to Kentucky with Cal.
