John Calipari Making Radio Appearances Today

Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari will appear on three national radio shows tomorrow. His schedule, courtesy UK media relations:

10:20 a.m. - Dan Patrick show
11:25 a.m. - Tim Brando show
2:05 p.m. - Mad Dog Radio w/Chris Russo

- He hopes players that signed at Memphis, stay at Memphis
- Cal thinks Josh Pastner will do a great job at Memphis
- He told Todd and Barnhart that it may take up to 4 years to build the program correctly
- Taking UK job was mostly about taking over one of the nation's storied programs
- "I wanna have fun..."
- He states that he loves the path as much as he loves the prize...loves recruiting...loves practice
- On Pitino: "We're not best of friends...but I absolutely respect him as a coach..."
- He says he wants to schedule Memphis, but needs to get his team right, first.
- "We will play anybody."
- He thinks Meeks and Patterson should both test NBA Draft waters
- He's looking forward to meeting Ashley Judd

Notes from Tim Brando Show:

- Memphis was tough because he was forced to win basically every game for
- He feels that the SEC is becoming the television darlings with the ESPN contract
- On recruiting: he wants to get it back to where other recruiters are nervous when they see Kentucky walk in
- States that he would have forced Tyreke Evans to enter the NBA Draft if he were still the Memphis coach
- No question that Patterson and Meeks will improve their stocks if they return to Kentucky
- He wants his team to fresh mentally and physically in March
- States that Kentucky might be a top 5 program in college basketball AND football
