Luke Fitzgerald Named to NAIA All-American First Team

Luke Fitzgerald of the University of the Cumberlands has been named to the NABC 2009 State Farm Coaches' NAIA All-American First Team. Fitzgerlad averaged 17.2 points and 7.9 rebounds per game this past season. He also shot 60.4% from the field, which ranked 6th in the NAIA.

Head Patriot Coach Don Butcher said, “Luke really deserves this award. He was the best player in the league and I’m proud of him because in his freshmen and sophomore years, he played in spurts. Most kids would said forget this, but Luke stayed the course and worked hard every day to get better and it paid off.”
