Memphis Promotes Assistant Pastner to Head Coach

Memphis will promote John Calipari's assistant, Josh Pastner, to the position of head coach. Pastner is well-known as a great recruiter and has spent several years as an assistant to Lute Olson at Arizona. He spent last season as Calipari's assistant. Pastner has no head coaching experience.

This is important to Kentucky basketball because many expected Pastner to join Calipari in Lexington. He may also have the ties to keep several top-notch recruits, some that were rumored to be following Calipari, in Memphis.
