Michael Porter Will Not Play for Kentucky Next Season

Matt May at the Cat's Pause is reporting that Michael Porter has opted to not play for the Kentucky Wildcats next season. Porter will graduate and focus and supporting his wife and baby that is on the way.

Porter's official statement from UKAthletics.com: “This has been a decision weighing on my shoulders for a while. Being married, and now with my little girl on the way, my priorities have simply changed. I love basketball and will miss it a lot, but I think it’s the best thing for me and my family at this stage of my life. This wasn’t an easy decision to come to, but with a lot of thought and prayer, I have come to peace and am looking forward to the next phase of my life.”

My Thoughts: I hate to see Porter go, but I am fully supportive of his decision to focus on his family and life. Best of luck to Michael Porter!
