Bellarmine's Chartrael Hall Seeks Pro Career

Recent Bellarmine graduate Chartrael Hall is planning to seek employment as a professional basketball player. He recently earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication, but plans to delay that career path in hopes of earning a paycheck from basketball.

Hall, the captain of last season's Bellarmine team, was a First Team All-GLVC and All-Midwest Region selection. He led the Knights in minutes, points, assists, steals and rebounds.

"I'm proud of the position I've put myself in," Hall said. "I've earned a degree from a highly respected school. Despite whether I continue to play for one year or 10 years, I'm glad I have that piece of paper (diploma). It will help me every day of my life."

Hall hopes to join several other Bellarmine alumni who have opted to play professionally around the world. Jared McCurry currently plays for Birstal Starwings Basel in Switzerland. He has earned several league honors in Switzerland, including 3-time LNA League Top Scorer and 2-time LNA All-Import Team.

Matt Miller and Calvin Fowler, from Bellarmine's class of 2006, have both home homes on professional teams. Miller will play this summer for Rwanda's National Team and Folwer is considering a return to London or elsewhere.

Dzaflow Larkai and Jamie Jackson, teammates from the 2007-08 Bellarmine squad, have just completed their first seasons of professional basketball. Larkai played for the Torrons Vicens in Spain's second division. Jackson just completed a stellar season with the Kentucky Bisons in the American Basketball Association (ABA). Jackson averaged 16.9 points per game for the current ABA champions.
