Bisons Return from China and Other International News

The Kentucky Bisons went 1-2 on their China tour against Beijing Aoshen Olympia.

The first game on Friday, the Bisons dropped a close one 107-105. They had a decent look at a last second 3-pointer for the win, but the shot rimmed out.

The second game, played on Saturday, had a better outcome as the Bisons won 117-105. Kenny Jones led the way with 26 points.

The third and final game resulted in a 112-100 loss as the team was dealing with several key injuries and illnesses, including ankle sprains and food poisoning. The Bisons were lead by DJ Washington with 20 points and former Kentucky Wildcat Brandon Stockton with 19.

Other International News:

- Ex-Louisville guard Taquan Dean scored 19 points to lead Unicaja to an 86-68 victory over Olympiakos in Spanish ACB action

- A pair of ex-WKU players had nice performances in round 12 of Uruguay's LUB League. Elgrace Wilborn had 12 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks in an 84-80 loss to Bohemios. Wilborn's Atenas' team is now 9-1 on the season.

Pop Thornton had 30 points and 6 rebounds in Sayago's 86-80 victory over Union Atletica.

- Rick Hughes, a former Thomas More standout, put in 20 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in Leon's 67-64 win over Tenerife in Spain's LEB Gold league.

- Ex-Georgetown Tiger Brian Silverhorn will likely be moving on to a new team after discovering his new role as a reserve for Halifax. He has been a two-year starter for the team and will likely not return for a third season.
