Mark Coury, who transferred from Kentucky to Cornell, is eligible to play this season after sitting out last under NCAA transfer rules.
Here are some notes about Coury from the Cornell 2009-10 basketball preview:
Expected to play major roles as reserves in 2009-10 are returners Adam Wire, Jon Jaques, Andre Wilkins, Alex Hill, Aaron Osgood and Pete Reynolds, as well as transfer eligible players Mark Coury (University of Kentucky) and Max Groebe (University of Massachusetts). Jaques will join Tyler and Foote as a team tri-captain.
A hard-nosed player with a nose for the ball, Coury will provide toughness, defense and rebounding after transferring from the University of Kentucky. Coury has a strong basketball IQ, is an excellent passer and can finish around the rim. He joined the Big Red midseason and was a key member of the practice squad, helping Cornell to its second straight Ivy League title. He will have two full seasons of eligibility for the Big Red.
