UK Recruit Brandon Knight Scores 28 in First Game

Excerpt of article from MiamiHerald.com:

In one fluid motion Brandon Knight pulled up for a three-pointer and went into his patented backpedal at the start of the Chamiande Tip-Off Classic on Saturday.

Knight, ranked No. 1 in the 2010 Class by Rivals.com, scored 22 of his 28 points in the second half to rally two-time defending Class 3A state champion Pine Crest from a 13-point deficit, but Fredrick Conner's steal and free throws with eight seconds left gave Ely an exciting 59-54 victory.

"When Brandon hit that three in the first 20 seconds, the only thought going through my head was that he is on right now,'' Conner said. I couldn't let him come back down and do it again. My goal was to play him tight and keep him under 30.''

Conner finished with nine points, four assists and three steals, and Jacoi Forbes had 17 points, including five three-pointers. Jonathan Randolph added 10 points for the Tigers.

Although many players would take a pass on defending Knight one-on-one and risk the chance of being embarrassed, Conner requested the assignment from Tigers coach Melvin Randall.

Soooo, I guess Brandon and CJ are your next recruiting kiss-ups since all but one of seven Kentucky recruits have fallen by the wayside. And that after John Robic recently declared that recruits would be lining up to play for Saint Calipari. Care to truthfully explain what's really going on in Lexington or are you going to continue to sugar-coat everything. Oh, by the way did I mention that Tobias Harris signed with Coach Pearl and Tennessee last week. I'm not sure if Kentucky even came in second. Since you personally know Tobias, why don't you give him a call and see what he has to say. Oh well, keep up the great work, and keep sending us your recruits.
Go Vols!

Don't come on here and be a jerkoff. If you have something constructive to say, feel free. If not, it's better to keep your mouth closed.

I have talked to Tobias in depth and I do know everything. The fact is, it's hard to bring in a top 5 class the year after you signed one of the top classes in NCAA history.

Constructively speaking, I think you mean BOUGHT "one of the top classes in NCAA history". Obviously, you disagree with Coach Robic. Kentucky will be losing Wall, Cousins and Patterson next year to the NBA. So this year's recruiting class is critically important don't you think? Probably not. The only way to get any honesty from your reporting is when a Kentucky coach starts losing games, ala Billy Gillespie. You had no problem ridiculing this troubled man to pieces, why can't you rip John and his staff for their recruiting failures? Why can't you tell your readers why Tobias didn't sign with Kentucky? I'm sure he's told you hasn't he? You sure don't take criticism well.

I take criticism just fine, but you need to actually say something that can be discussed. The reason I don't question the 2010 recruiting is because there is still an entire Spring signing period. If we go through the Spring signing period without adding any recruits, then I will be first in line to ask what is going on.

I can't report why Tobias didn't sign with Kentucky because I don't know why. I guess he just went were he felt the most comfortable at.

I ridiculed Billy Gillispie to pieces because he treated his kids with no class. I was also the first in line to state that Gillispie actually has a problem and needs our prayers.
