I had a nice chat with Clark County big man Vinny Zollo tonight. Zollo, a 2011 power forward, is preparing for the season and thinks the Cardinals are going to have a nice team.
"We are looking really good. If everyone stays healthy I like our chances," Zollo told me.
Individually, Vinny is quickly growing into a college-ready body. He says he now stands, "a little over 6'9" and about 225 pounds."
He has been working hard this summer on playing above the rim more.
"I think people will see a lot more dunks and strong play from me. I've gotten taller and gained some weight, which will help," he explained.
Vinny, who de-committed from Kentucky after John Calipari replaced Billy Gillispie, is getting some high-major NCAA DI looks. He currently has offers from Dayton, Oklahoma State and South Florida. Although he does not have an offer at this point, he also has a good feeling about Notre Dame.
In addition, Stanford, Clemson, Tennessee and Xavier are showing heavy interest in Vinny.

Miami of Ohio would be his best option.
