It is possible that former Louisville Cardinal big man Derrick Caracter will be returning to college basketball soon. Caracter, now at UTEP, awaits a ruling on his academic progress. If everything checks out, he will be making his official return to the basketball court.

Tony Barbee may also be the one coach with the most to gain. On Saturday, the Miners head man will learn the fate of talented, yet enigmatic big man Derrick Caracter.
"That’s when they’re going to certify his grades,” Barbee said. "We’ll know then whether he’s made it or not.”
If Caracter’s academics check out, the former AAU legend will return to college basketball Sunday against New Mexico State.
