Game recap by AllKYHoops.com:

The Bellarmine Knights (5-4), who entered the season ranked as highly as #1 in NCAA DII basketball, were upset over the weekend by the hot-shooting Indiana University Southeast Grenadiers. The Grenadiers, a talented NAIA DII program, nailed 13-23 three-pointers en route to an 87-80 upset of the Knights.

Jazzmarr Ferguson led IU Southeast (9-3) with 34 points, including a sparkling 7-9 performance from long range. Carlos Mitchell added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the visiting Grenadiers.

Bellarmine was led by Nick Holmes with 24 points on 9-12 field goal shooting. Justin Benedetti added a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Jeremy Kendle contributed 16 points, but was 0-7 from beyond the 3-point line.

The Knights dominated almost every facet of the game, but were outscored by a stunning 30 points from the 3-point line.

Head coach Scott Davenport stated after the game, "When you get outscored by 30 points from the 3-point line it's practically impossible to win."

Bellarmine returns to action on December 19 when they host University of the Cumberlands at 7:00 p.m.
