Pro Basketball Outlook on DeMarcus Cousins

Hoopsworld.com takes a look at Kentucky freshman basketball star DeMarcus Cousins and discusses his NBA potential:

DeMarcus Cousins (Kentucky)

The big 6'11 freshman has looked great so far in the early season alongside Patrick Patterson, who was able to move to his natural position thanks to the addition of Cousins. Cousins is posting up averages of 16 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks a night. Coach Calipari has been demanding of Cousins defensively and is really starting to bring out the best in him on that side of the court. Cousins gets his work done a lot differently than Favors because he's nowhere near as athletic. His offense comes as a result of solid footwork and touch around the basket. Cousins has worked his way into the first round of most mock drafts and should stay there as long as he continues to makes progress on the defensive end. It'd likely take a sophomore season for him to make his way into lottery discussion.

The article also takes a look at Derrick Favors, Xavier Henry, Lance Stephenson, John Henson, Renardo Sidney and Evan Turner.
