Day 1: KHSAA Sweet Sixteen Schedule and Picks

Here is the schedule for tomorrow's KHSAA Sweet Sixteen action and my picks:

Session 1:

Noon Warren Central (22-8) vs. East Carter (23-5)

I have watched both teams play this season and this one will feature two very talented players in Central's George Fant and East Carter's Colt Barnhill.

I feel that Warren Central has a little too much talent and experience from top-to-bottom.

Pick: Warren Central

1:30 p.m. Ballard (29-4) vs. Shelby County (24-5)

I feel that Ballard will be one of the favorites to win the whole tournament and I think they will pull away from Shelby County.

Pick: Ballard

Session 2:

6:30 p.m. Newport (29-5) vs. Christian County (29-4)

I have not watched Newport play this season, but I know a little about Christian County. I feel that Christian County has been tested a little more with their schedule and have an impressive road win over Shelby Valley on their resume. I am going with Christian County.

Pick: Christian County

8:00 p.m. Scott County (27-6) vs. Corbin (27-3)

These are two very good teams and it's a shame they have to meet in the first round, but that's the luck of the draw. This will be a very good game, but I have to think Scott County has the desire and talent to escape.
