Former Kentucky forward Heshimu Evans and Benfica defeated FC Porto Ferpinta 85-74 to capture the National Championship in Portugal's top-level LPB League.
Evans led all scorers with 23 points in the decisive game 5 victory. He was a brilliant 9-13 from the field and also pulled down 9 rebounds.
Benfica won the championship series 4-1.
