LEX18 has discovered this morning that former Kentucky big man Jules Camara, who was arrested for DUI earlier in the week, has been placed on a detainer by immigration and customs enforcement officials and could be deported.
According to police, Camara was discovered early Monday morning at the intersection of New Circle Road and Alumni Drive. Camara's car was reportedly running while sitting on the grass median and Camara was found unconscious in the car.
Here is an excerpt from LEX18:
Officials at the Boone County jail, where Camara was moved to on Wednesday, confirmed the detainer placed on Camara. Immigration officials say that anyone who has a detainer placed on them is deportable. However, Camara has the right to go before an immigration judge, where facts of his case will be presented. There is no word yet on when that will happen. Also, immigration officials will not talk about why Camara could be deported.
