UK Practice and Scrimmage to Air Live on National Television

As Kentucky head coach John Calipari often says...wow. UK has announced that Wednesday's two-hour practice and scrimmage will be aired live on national television.

Here is the release from UK:

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The top-ranked University of Kentucky men’s basketball team will host a practice and scrimmage open to both UK students and faculty/staff on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 3 p.m. in Memorial Coliseum.

Free tickets to the event will be distributed in person from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at the Memorial Coliseum ticket windows located on Euclid Avenue. Tickets (one per ID) will be available to all current UK students and faculty/staff, as well as Bluegrass Community and Technical College students. All seating is general admission.

Attendees may not line up prior to doors opening at 2 p.m. on the day of the event. A valid student or UK faculty/staff ID must be presented with a ticket upon entry. Festivities will begin at 3 p.m. and will include both an open practice and scrimmage. Further details will be announced on Tuesday.

Students and faculty/staff must enter through the Euclid Ave. doors. All other doors to Memorial Coliseum will be closed.

The practice and scrimmage will air live from 3-5 p.m. ET on WKYT in Lexington, ESPNU, ESPN3 and UKathletics.com. Other affiliates will be announced tomorrow.

My Thoughts: I'll say it again...wow. Can you imagine the message this sends to Kentucky recruits around the nation?
