I spoke to Perry County Central head coach Kevin Spurlock last night and he gave a recruiting update on some of his players. Spurlock confirmed that 6-foot-7 small forward Justin Johnson has offers from Western Kentucky, Murray State, Winthrop, Lipscomb, Belmont, Indiana State, Northern Kentucky, Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky. He also noted that Southern Miss has been very active lately.
Dalton Cornett, a 6-foot-7 power forward, has offers from Lincoln Memorial and several Mid-South Conference schools. Union (TN) has started recruiting Cornett in recent weeks.
Northern Kentucky has also offered Braxton Beverly, who is widely considered to be one of the top freshman guards in the state.
Austin Pray, who starts at small forward on the basketball team, has football offers from Air Force, Eastern Kentucky and multiple NAIA schools. Pray scored an impressive 32 on the ACT and currently maintains a 4.2 GPA.

Those are some very nice Divison 1 offers Johnson has. Hopefully he will sign with one of those and have a great 4 year career. I'd love to see someone from one of the 14th or 15th region schools sign and stick it out at a Division 1 school.
