Cordia Hammers Letcher Central, Huggins Watches Owootoah

Cordia pulled away in the second half to defeat Letcher Central 73-43 in the semifinals of the 53rd District Tournament last night.

Rodrick Rhodes' team went on a 41-12 run in the second half to blow the game open.

Highly touted 2013 point guard Emmanuel Owootoah finished with 10 points, 8 assists, 5 steals and 4 rebounds.

West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins and Villanova assistant Raphael Chillious were at the game to watch Owootoah.

Cordia (18-8) advances to play the winner of tonight's semifinal game between Knott Central and Jenkins. The championship game is Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at Knott Central High School.

Owootoah drained a 30-footer just before the end of the third quarter:

It would be cool if that meeting between Huggins and Hammond lead to ALC playing WVU in one of the exhibition games next season.

That would be pretty cool for sure.

One funny thing...J.R. accidentally knocked the face plate off the HVAC control and it appeared to hit Huggins in the back. Huggins just laughed lol.
