Game recap by EKU:
MARTIN, Tenn. – A poor shooting night doomed Eastern Kentucky in a 72-65 loss at Tennessee-Martin on Thursday. The Colonels shot 35 percent from the field, 32 percent from three-point range and 54 percent from the free throw line.
Junior Glenn Cosey made his return after missing the last six games. He finished with 20 points on 7-of-18 shooting from the field, including 6-of-14 from three-point range. Mike DiNunno had 14 points and seven assists but made just 5-of-18 attempts and 3-of-13 from behind the arc.
A three-pointer and two free throws by Terence Smith gave the Skyhawks (6-16, 3-7 OVC) a seven-point lead, 66-59, with only 1:29 left in the game, but the Colonels (16-6, 6-3 OVC) didn’t go down without a fight.

Eastern Kentucky University head coach Jeff Neubauer has sparked a firestorm around the Ohio Valley Conference following tonight's 72-65 loss to Tennessee-Martin.
After the loss, Neubauer told the media, "it's on us. We’re the only team that’s going to be able to beat them in the OVC Tournament."
"The other teams in the OVC do not matchup well with them," Neubauer continued. "We have to be the team that beats them."
Tennessee-Martin head coach Jason James responded by saying, "I hope he's right. I've coached too long to get cocky."
If somebody posted this for sarcasm, it's really funny, because that's what he said after losing to Belmont.
Neubauer, as I've said before on this forum, is an idiot. He finally runs up a decent record playing an absolute, patsy, cream-puff, terrible Division 1 schedule; and he thinks he has a good team. Loses to Belmont in a relatively close game, and all of a sudden he's got the "only team in the OVC" who can beat them. Then he loses to UT-MARTIN!!!! What's wrong Jeff? Didn't match-up well with that powerhouse? You're gonna continue to see the big Eastern slide as they get further into the OVC schedule. That L column's gonna get a lot bigger. It's a shame they don't allow wins over Cincinnati Christian, Towson, and Radford count as league wins. Maybe EKU needs to take Belmont's place in the A-Sun? Naw, that league too tough for them too. Maybe drop down a Division and join the Mid-South? Here's to going 0-Whatever the rest of the schedule is!
