Louisville Ballard Overcomes Euless Trinity and Myles Turner in Whataburger Tournament

Louisville Ballard, the top-ranked team in Kentucky, defeated Euless Trinity (Tex.) 72-70 in the first round of the Whataburger Basketball Tournament.

Butler signee Kelan Martin drained a game-winning three-pointer with 5 seconds to go to give Ballard the win.

Martin led the Bruins with 28 points and 12 rebounds. Louisville signee Quentin Snider finished with 17 points and 6 assists.

Kentucky recruit Myles Turner, a five-star center, finished with 25 points.

Ballard (10-1) returns to action today at 3:00 p.m. against Atascocita (Tex.) and Oklahoma State signee Joe Burton.

Atascocita defeated Arlington Martin (Tex.) 67-65 to advance in the winner's bracket. They also feature 6-foot-11 center Zach Haney.
