Samardo Samuels Named Player of the Week in Italy's Serie A League

Former Louisville big man Samardo Samuels has been named Player of the Week in Italy's top-level Serie A league following the first week of games.

Samuels had 22 points and 10 rebounds in a 68-61 win over Vanoli CR.

Jamaican Samardo Samuels (206-F/C-89) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's second-best EA7 Armani and that's him to receive a Player of the Week award for round 1.

The 25-year old power forward had a double-double of 22 points and ten rebounds, while his team beat Vanoli CR (0-1) 68-61. It's just the very beginning of the season and EA7 Armani won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Samuels had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. It's his second year at EA7 Armani and it's hard to imagine this team without him. University of Louisville graduate has very impressive stats this year.
