Former Louisville Guard Alhaji Mohammed Named Player of the Week in Romania

Former Louisville guard Alhaji Mohammed was recently named Player of the Week in Romania's top-level Liga Nationala.

Mohammed had 21 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists in Ploiesti's 87-64 win over Timba Timis.

Experienced Ghanian Alhaji Mohammed (192-G-81) had a very impressive game in the last round for Ploiesti and that's him to receive a Player of the Week award for round 5.

The 33-year old guard had the game-high 21 points adding four rebounds and nine assists for Ploiesti in his team's victory, helping them to crush Timba Timis. (#11, 1-3) with 23-point margin 87-64. Ploiesti is placed at 3rd position in Romanian Liga Nationala. They are still close to the very top. Ploiesti would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 4-1 record. In the team's last game Mohammed had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Ploiesti and it's hard to imagine this team without him. University of Louisville graduate has very impressive stats this year. Mohammed is in league's top in assists (4th best: 5.3apg) and averages solid 3.0spg and 69.6% FGP.
