Game recap by LWC:

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team dropped its Mid-South Conference opener to visiting Life (Ga.) tonight 100-97 in overtime at Biggers Sports Center.

The Blue Raiders fall to 3-3 on the season and 0-1 in the MSC despite six Blue Raiders scoring in double figures.

Life (2-1, 1-0 in the MSC) ultimately won the back-and-forth affair -- that featured 13 ties and 11 leads changes -- with its defense and rebounding prowess. The Running Eagles forced the Blue Raiders into a season-high 28 turnovers while finishing with 13-rebound advantage. Life ended the game with 19 offensive boards which resulted in 17 second-chance points.

Lindsey Wilson battled back from 78-69 deficit with a little more than three minutes to play with a 14-5 run to close regulation.

Back-to-back 3-pointers from Bryan Wallace and Julian Edmonson in the final eight seconds extended the game into the Blue Raiders' first overtime of the season. Edmonson finished with 15 points while Wallace chipped in 14.

Wallace drained a contested three with 7.8 seconds left in regulation to cut the Life lead to 82-80. After Travien Geter made one-of-two free throws to extend the lead back to three, Edmonson poured in a trey from the left wing as time expired to send the game into the extra frame.

The two teams traded baskets and free throws through the first four minutes of the extra period. But in the final minute, the Eagles used a 6-0 run to take a 97-92 lead with 28 seconds left.

Life made five of its last six free throws to secure the three-point win in its Mid-South Conference debut.

Lindsey Wilson finished the night shooting 54.4 percent (31-of-57) from the field. Thanks to its work on the glass, Life managed 14 more shots than the Blue Raiders while shooting 50.7 percent (36-of-71).

Allen Dantzler led the Eagles with a season-high 29 points. Geter added 16 off the Life bench.

D'on Hall led the Blue Raiders with 18 points. Kevin Bradshaw added 14 while Tony Horne and Keshaun Mayfield chipped in 13 and 12 points respectively.

Lindsey Wilson returns to the hardwood at 7 p.m. CT on Thursday, Nov. 20, as the Blue Raiders travel to Shawnee State (Ohio) for a MSC doubleheader in Portsmouth, Ohio.
