Antwain Barbour Returns to Turkey

Former Kentucky swingman Antwain Barbour is returning to Turkey to finish out the season.

Barbour is back with Mersin Buyuksehir Belediyesi in Turkey's second-level TB2L league. He started the season in Poland where he averaged 11.5 points in two games for Akdeniz.

Mersin Buyuksehir Belediyesi (TB2L) strengthened their roster with addition of 32-year old Lebanese ex-international swingman Antwain Barbour (196-88kg-82, college: Kentucky, agency: Three Eye Sports). It is actually his comeback to Akdeniz as he played here before. Barbour has a double citizenship as he also holds American passport. Barbour already started the season at Wilki Morskie in Polish TBL league. In two 1Liga games he recorded 11.5ppg, 2.0rpg and 2.5apg this season. The last season he played at Mersin (TBL). In 30 games he averaged 14.7ppg, 4.7rpg, 2.8apg and 1.2spg. Great season indeed as he was voted to Turkish League All-Star Game.

The previous (12-13) season Barbour played at VL Pesaro (Serie A) in Italian league. In 30 games he averaged impressive 15.1ppg, 3.9rpg, 2.3apg and 1.8spg in 2012-13 season. Great year indeed as he was voted to All-Italian SerieA Honorable Mention and was invited to participate in the All-Star Game Slam Dunk Contest.

In 2011-12 season he played at Cibona (A1) in Croatian league. The team played in four different competitions (!!!) that year, and Barbour had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 15 A1 games he averaged 10.3ppg, 3.9rpg, 1.5apg and 1.3spg in 2011-12 season. He helped them to win the league title. A very good season in his career as he was voted to Croatian A1 League All-Imports Team and to the All-Star Game. Barbour also played 2 games in Euroleague where he averaged 10.0ppg, 2.0rpg, 2.0apg and 1.0spg in 2011-12 season. He also played 5 games in Eurocup where he averaged 9.4ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.2apg in 2011-12 season. And finally Barbour played 24 games in Adriatic League where he averaged 12.8ppg, 3.7rpg, 2.6apg and 1.1spg in 2011-12 season. A very good year in his career as he was voted to Adriatic League All-Imports Team and Honorable Mention.
