Matt Norlander of CBS Sports: "Duke can be the best team in the country"

Before the season starter, Matt Norlander of CBS Sports picked Duke to win the national championship in 2014-15.

After Duke knocked off Wisconsin in Madison last night, Norlander had some justification for his preseason pick.

Norlander believes Duke can be the best team in the nation if freshman point guard Tyus Jones continues to play like he did at Wisconsin.

Here is an excerpt:

Duke looked so good people finally started to come around to my side (I picked Duke to win the whole thing, back in October). Coach K's kids shot 65 percent from the floor. Had 1.33 points per possession. Against a veteran Bo Ryan team, on the road, with as much talent as Wisconsin has? It's remarkable. All told, I'm not sure Krzyzewski could count, say, 20 wins in the regular season he'll be more proud of.

The freshmen trio: terrific again. Tyus Jones had 22 points, six rebounds, four assists and one turnover. If he's going to continue to play at this level, yes, Duke can be the best team in the country. The Jahlil Okafor-Frank Kaminsky matchup wasn't as good as we'd hoped. Okafor finished with 13 points and six rebounds; Kaminsky had 17 and nine.
