University of the Cumberlands Finishes 2014 with Two Wins at Dalton State Classic

University of the Cumberlands finished the 2014 portion of their schedule with two wins at the Dalton State Classic.

Here's a recap from UC:

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team would take to the road this weekend as they competed in the Dalton State Classic. The Patriots would hit the floor running on Friday with a 73-52 win over Concordia College Selma. UC would finish off a successful weekend on Saturday with a close 48-47 win over NAIA #13 ranked and host school Dalton State. With the two wins, UC moves to 12-4 overall this season.


•UC was led in the contest off the bench by Michael Dow (Melbourne, Australia) with 16 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.
•Tony Bradley (Alton, IL) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the win.
•Chance Armstrong (Mt. Washington, KY) chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds as well.
•UC shot 49% from the field in the contest as well as 42.1% from three point range and 75% from the charity stripe.


•The Patriots' Xavier Owens (Tampa, FL) led the way with 13 points and 8 rebounds.
•Armstrong yet again was a staple in the offense with 12 points and 3 rebounds.
•Bradley was quiet scoring with just 4 points, but chipped in otherwise with 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals in the win.
•UC shot just 35.2% from the field in the game, but held the #13 ranked team in the NAIA to just 27.5% from the floor and 10.5% from deep (2-19).


The Patriots will return to the floor on January 3rd as they host West Virginia Tech in Williamsburg. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 pm.
