Kentucky head coach John Calipari also made an appearance on the list at No. 17:

John Calipari, Kentucky basketball coach

Calipari wins and recruits wherever he goes. He's also left a trail of NCAA violations in his wake at UMass and Memphis. His position at the forefront of college basketball's "One-and-Done" era of recruiting have made him reviled among hoops traditionalists.

This morning, Calipari responded to the article on Facebook and Twitter:

Senior Demontre Harris No Longer a Member of Florida Baskeball Program

It appears that senior center Demontre Harris is no longer a member of the Florida basketball program.

Harris transferred to Florida from South Carolina but did not play his entire junior season after facing multiple disciplinary problems.

Here is more from GatorSports.com:

The South Carolina transfer faced multiple disciplinary issues and did not play his entire junior season with the Gators despite being eligible. Harris was let go by Florida coach Billy Donovan over Christmas break, but asked for and received a second chance, re-enrolling at UF during the spring semester. Harris practiced with the Gators during UF's Final Four run, but did not play.

Donovan had said in January that Harris could resume playing for the Gators next fall if he met “a certain set of conditions.” Those conditions, it seems, were not met.

West Jessamine's Will Henderson to Walk-On at Morehead State

West Jessamine's Will Henderson has decided to join the Morehead State University program as a walk-on next season.

Here is more from Centralkynews.com:

“It’s going to be tough for him. The deck’s always stacked against walk-ons, and he knows that,” Kelley said. “We’ve had some conversations about it, but the way I look at it is he’s a kid who’s always dreamed of playing Division I basketball, and when you have an opportunity to do that, it doesn’t matter if it’s on scholarship or it’s as a walk-on. You don’t want to pass up that chance; you don’t want to look back down the road and have that wander in your mind, ‘Could I have played there?’ or regret that you passed up the opportunity.”

Henderson said Morehead was the last school he visited and felt as if he could contribute to the Eagles’ program. Other college options included University of Charleston (West Virginia), West Virginia State, Asbury University and Erskine College (South Carolina).

Memphis Grizzlies Reportedly Interested in John Calipari

The Memphis Grizzlies are reportedly interested in hiring John Calipari away from Kentucky.

According to Brian Gelteiler of Hoopscritic.com:

Dan Feldman NBCSports.com talks about the report, and hammers Calipari in the process:

I believe Calipari likes hearing his name mentioned for NBA jobs. It helps with recruiting and feeds his ego.

But I also believe, after a failed stint with the New Jersey Nets in the 1990s, he wants another shot in the pros.

It might be difficult for him to convince an NBA team to take him, considering how bad the Nets were under his watch and how much his college teams rely on a talent advantage. But the Grizzlies just might be crazy enough to do it. They’re crazy enough to do everything else they’ve done this week.

Louisville's Akoy Agau: "Our Fans Are More Mature" Than Kentucky Fans

Louisville's Akoy Agau opened up to the Courier-Journal about the Kentucky vs. Louisville rivalry.

In explaining the rivalry, Agau stated that he feels Louisville fans are more mature than Kentucky fans.

Here is an excerpt of his comments:

“It’s literally, if you win, you have exactly 365 days until the next game you play each other to brag and talk all the crap they want,” he said. “It’s literally all they do. It’s red and blue just going back at each other. If a Louisville player does something, all the Kentucky fans want to … publicize it or get it out.

“I personally feel like our fans are more mature. I hope there’s not any Kentucky fans listening.”

Agau’s comments came a week or so before teammate Mangok Mathiang was arrested on Kentucky Oaks Day for failure to disperse and public drinking. Agau himself was indefinitely suspended at one point during his freshman season, and the Cardinals also saw a pair of defections from the team — Chane Behanan and Kevin Ware — that added to the back-and-forth fan sniping.

Murray High School Hires Former Asbury Women's Coach Bart Flener

Former Asbury University women's coach Bart Flener was introduced as the new head coach of Murray High School's boy's basketball program earlier this week.

Here is more from MurrayLedger.com:

A mere six hours after introducing Calloway County senior point guard Bailey Brown into the Asbury University women’s basketball program, Bart Flener drove 1.5 miles and stood at a podium in the Murray High School library – a speech in hand.

Formerly the head coach of the Eagles for the past six seasons, Flener was installed as the new head coach of boys basketball at MHS Friday afternoon in front of a welcome wagon of students, faculty and staff.

“(Signing Bailey) was probably my last acting duty as Asbury head coach,” Flener said with a laugh Friday afternoon. “I sent the (Asbury) officials my letter of resignation on Thursday.”
