Campbellsville's Damontre Harris Named MSC Player of the Week

Campbellsville University's Damontre Harris, a transfer from Florida, has been named Mid-South Conference Player of the Week.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Campbellsville (Ky.) senior Damontre Harris is the Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week presented by Roeding Insurance, conference officials announced on Monday.

The weekly award Harris' first of the season. He is the third different Tiger to claim the weekly conference honor this season.

In his only game of the week, Harris recorded his eighth double-double of the season while leading the No. 2-ranked Tigers to a 74-60 win over visiting MidAmerican Nazarene (Kan.) on Friday.

The Fayetteville, N.C., forward scored 18 points while pulling down 15 rebounds in his nearly 28 minutes of court time. Harris connected on eight of his 12 shots from the field. He also added a pair of blocks during the win.

Harris leads the Mid-South and the NAIA in both total blocks (57) and blocks per game (3.4). He ranks second in the conference and ninth nationally, averaging 9.2 rebounds per outing. He is second in the conference with his eight double-doubles and 18th in scoring (11.7 points per game).

Campbellsville improves to 16-1 overall with last week's win. The Tigers lead the Mid-South with a 5-0 conference mark.

The next MSC Men's Basketball Player of the Week will be announced on Monday, Jan. 12.
