Kristian Morgan Leads Asbury Past Winless Fisk University

Asbury 95
Fish 72

Final from Wilmore, Kentucky

Game recap by AU:

Wilmore, KY--Kristian Morgan scored 26 points, 18 in the first half, to pace the Eagles to a 95-72 victory over Fisk University (TN) Tuesday night at the Luce Center in Wilmore.

The Eagles led by 13 at the half but Fisk (0-19) hung around, not allowing Asbury to pull away until late in the second half when the Eagles' lead swelled to 26.

CJ Penny and Kyle Lamb each added 15 points. Penny also contributed 11 rebounds and five assists.

"I didn't think we looked very good in the first half. Kristian Morgan kind of saved us," said Will Shouse, Eagles' head coach. "But we played better in the second half. Overall, I was pleased with it."

Sophomore Timmy Bradshaw hit four of five three pointers for the Eagles and finished with 13 points.

"If a team goes zone on us, I know Timmy is ready to go," said Shouse. "Then they went man and I decided to leave him in. If he can get a shot off, he has as good a chance of making it as anyone who has ever played here."

The Eagles are now 15-5 overall, 4-1 in the KIAC. They will face conference foe Rio Grande (OH) Thursday night in Wilmore.
