Eastern Kentucky Has Plenty On the Line in Final Two OVC Games

Eastern Kentucky has a lot on the line when they battle Jacksonville State tonight and Tennessee Tech Saturday.

The Colonels can win the OVC East if they win both games.

RICHMOND, Ky. – There will be a lot on the line for both teams when Eastern Kentucky plays host to Jacksonville State on Thursday.

The Colonels (17-10, 9-5 OVC) can finish first in the Ohio Valley Conference East Division and claim the No. 2 seed in the league tournament by winning both of their remaining games. The Gamecocks (12-17, 5-9 OVC) have won three games in a row and need to win their two remaining games in order to qualify for one of the eight spots in the OVC Tournament.

Eastern Kentucky stayed on track to finish first in the East by beating Austin Peay, 76-64, on Monday – the first of three home games this week. Senior Eric Stutz scored a game-best 20 points and is now shooting 73.2 percent from the field and averaging 22 points per game in his last five home games. Freshman Paul Jackson handed out a career-best seven assists against the Governors.
