Kentucky Struggles But Pulls Away from Georgia Late to Move to 22-0

No. 1 Kentucky started with an 11-1 run and ended with a 6-0 spurt to knock of Georgia 69-58 Tuesday night in Lexington.

The Wildcats (22-0, 9-0 SEC) struggled a bit in the second half and could never put the short-handed Bulldogs away.

Andrew Harrison led Kentucky with a game-high 23 points and 7 assists. Karl Towns added a double-doubled with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Devin Booker chipped in 9 points.

Nemanja Djurisic led the Bulldogs (14-7, 5-4) with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Yante Maten contributed 13 points and 9 boards.

Georgia, which played with leading scorer and rebounder Marcus Thornton, actually out-scored Kentucky 31-27 in the second half. They cut the Wildcats' lead 5 points with 2:08 to go in the game but was unable to get any closer. Towns hit a clutch shot 1:33 to go to put the game away.

Kentucky returns to action Saturday night at 9:00 p.m. ET when they will battle the Florida Gators in Gainesville.
