No. 1 Kentucky Survives Florida and the Rowdy Reptiles to Remain Undefeated

(1) Kentucky 68
Florida 61

Final from Gainesville, Florida

Top-ranked Kentucky survived what might have been Florida's best effort and escaped Gainesville with a 68-61 win over the Gators.

Aaron Harrison scored 23 points to lead the Wildcats (23-0, 10-0 SEC). Karl Towns added 19 points and 8 rebounds. Willie Cauley-Stein finished with 13 points and 5 boards. Devin Booker chipped in 12 points despite dealing with cramps in the second half.

Tyler Ulis led Kentucky with a game-high 5 assists.

Dorian Finney-Smith led Florida (12-11, 5-5) with 16 points on 6-for-10 shooting. Kasey Hill contributed 12 points and 6 assists for the gritty Gators.

After the game, Florida head coach Billy Donovan said this was his team's best effort of the season.

"This is the first time in 23 games that I feel like my team played to actually win the game," Donovan told the media after the game.

Kentucky was just 3-for-14 from the three-point line but shot a spectacular 21-for-22 (95.5%) from the free throw line. Florida was just 7-for-14 (50%) from the charity stripe.

The Wildcats will take a day off before travelling to LSU for a Tuesday night contest in Baton Rouge.
