Pikeville's Kenny Manigault Named Mid-South Conference Player of the Week for 2nd Time This Season

University of Pikeville senior Kenny Manigault was named Mid-South Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday.

Manigault averaged 24.5 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals per game last week in two wins.

PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- University of Pikeville senior Kenny Manigault is the Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, presented by Roeding Insurance, conference officials announced on Monday.

The weekly award is Manigault's second of the season. He also picked up the honor on Jan. 12.

Manigault led the fourth-ranked Bears to two wins last week, averaging 24.5 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals per game.

The Ridgeville, S.C., native posted 33 points, eight rebounds, six assists and six steals in UPIKE's 90-86 comeback win over No. 6 Campbellsville on Thursday. Manigault hit 11-of-20 shots from the field, including all five of his 3-point attempts -- a career high -- to help put the Bears in sole possession of first place in the MSC standings.

Manigault closed the week with a 16-point, four-rebound performance in a 95-71 win over St. Catharine. He added two assists, two blocks and two steals en route to helping the Bears win for the 18th time in 19 tries.

Manigault shot 48.4 percent (15 of 31) from the field during the week, including making six of seven (85.7 percent) from deep. He also went 13 for 16 from the free-throw line.

The UPIKE senior leads the conference and NAIA averaging 2.6 steals per game. He is second in the conference in assists per game (3.4), third in scoring (19.2) and rebounds (7.6) and fourth in double-doubles (8) and field-goal percentage (49.5).

The Bears improved to 24-2 overall and 11-2 in league play with last week's wins.
