Game recap by ACU:

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The 20th ranked Arizona Christian Firestorm men's basketball team shots lights out in the second half to earn a 94-82 comeback victory over the 14th seeded Georgetown College Tigers in the 2015 Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division 1 Men's Basketball National Championship First Round game in Kansas City, Missouri.

"Georgetown is a great program and has had a lot of success in this tournament in years past, so this is a great first win for us," said ACU head coach Jeff Rutter.

The Firestorm and Tigers felt each other out for the first 10 minutes of the ballgame. Each team seemed to have some early jitters and struggled out of the gate. As the game progressed, Georgetown started to settle in as they shot the ball 38 times in the first half; knocking down 16 shots. The Firestorm shot 40% from the field in the first half, but struggled to shoot from beyond the three-point arc (25%) and from the free-throw line (63%). Georgetown would go into halftime with a 43-35 lead.

The Firestorm found their shooting stroke in the second half, led by senior guard Charles King.

"My teammates told me at halftime to shoot the ball," said ACU guard Charles King. "Coach ran a lot of plays for me and I was able to take my time and use my legs and I felt real comfortable."

King finished the second half, going 5-of-7 from the field as he finished the game with a team high 17 points. The Firestorm as a team shot 57% from the field in the second half and held Georgetown to just 39% shooting in the second half.

After scoring just two points in the first half, Brandon Newman exploded for 12 points in the second half to help propel the Firestorm to the victory. ACU had five players finish with double-figures in scoring. Along with Newman and King, Sharif Watson tallied 15 points, Bobby Gray with 16 and Kevin Lawson chipped in with 15 points. The Firestorm outscored Georgetown 59-39 in the second half on their way to the upset victory over the 14th seeded Tigers.
