The Centre men's basketball team placed four players on the All-Southern Athletic Association Team with Tyler Wesley repeating as Defensive Player of the Year, the conference announced Saturday.

Wesley, a junior forward from Crestwood, Ky., earned the honor as the conference's top defensive player for the second time after setting the school's career blocks record and leading the conference in blocks for the third straight season with 2.4 per game. Wesley also was third in the conference with 7.5 blocks per game while averaging 7.2 points. Wesley was also an honorable mention All-SAA selection.

Josh Karsner (Frankfort, Ky.) and Blake Scinta (Louisville, Ky.) were named to the SAA's first team, Karsner earning the honor for the second time and Scinta a first time pick after being selected to the second team last year. The duo finished third and fourth in the conference in scoring, with Scinta averaging 15.7 points per game and Karsner averaging 15.5. Karsner and Scinta also accounted for nearly a third of the SAA's Player of the Week Awards this season with Scinta winning a league-high three times and Karsner once.

Rounding out Centre's selections was Matt Gump (Bellefontaine, Ohio), who joined Wesley as an honorable mention pick. Gump averaged 8.9 points and a team-high 3.8 assists for the Colonels, and also sank a game-winning buzzer beater to defeat Oglethorpe in the final regular season game to give Centre a tie with Rhodes for the regular season SAA championship.
