Spalding was led in scoring by Brandon Gabriel, who finished with 14 points in the final game of his career. Brandon Goeing was the only other Spalding player in double digits with 13 points.

Spalding fell behind early, as the Eagles jumped out to an 18-4 lead nine minutes into the first half. The first half lead stretched to 20 points at 28-8 after a layup with 7:44 left to play in the half. The Eagles closed the period by outscoring Emory 17-10 to cut the lead to 13, at 38-25.

Any momentum Spalding had to start the half was quelled quickly, as Emory used back-to-back three pointers to start a 28-3 run that put the Golden Eagles down 66-28 with 12 minutes remaining. With the game out of reach, the teams essentially traded baskets for the rest of the way.
