Lexington Officials Removing Couches, Other Flammable Items in Anticipation of Championship Celebration

Lexington officials are removing couches and other flammable items from what has been deemed an "emergency area" near the University of Kentucky campus.

Officials are hoping to control post game celebrations following UK's run in the NCAA Tournament.

Several streets near the University of Kentucky campus are now considered an emergency area as the city prepares for post game celebrations.

That notice went into effect this at 9 a.m. Thursday. Since that notice is now in effect city crews are out looking for code violations, particularly couches outdoors.
