(1) Kentucky 72
Georgia 64

Final from Athens, Georgia

No. 1 Kentucky overcame everything Georgia had to offer on the road and pulled out an impressive 72-64 win Tuesday night to remain undefeated.

The Wildcats (30-0, 17-0 SEC) faced their largest second half deficit of the season at 56-47 with 9:12 to go. Andrew Harrison promptly nailed a three-pointer to cut the lead to 56-50.

Down 62-56, the Wildcats would use a 14-0 run to storm back and take a 70-62 lead of their own.

Karl-Anthony Towns led the Wildcats with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Aaron Harrison chipped in 16 points. Andrew Harrison added 12.

Nemanja Djurisic led Georgia (19-10, 10-7) with 18 points. Marcus Thornton finished with 14 points and 7 boards.

Georgia shot 26-for-55 (47.3%) for the game, out-rebounded Kentucky 41-38 and still lost. The Wildcats only turned the ball over 3 times during the game compared to 11 by the Bulldogs.

With the win, Kentucky is the 13th Division I team to start a season 30-0. They are two wins away from tying the SEC record for most consecutive wins and one win away from completing the first undefeated regular season by a BCS team since Indiana in 1976.

The Wildcats finish the regular season on Saturday with a home game against Florida at 2:00 p.m.
