Game recap by UC:

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team would take to the court on Friday in the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Tournament against the #5 seeded Blue Raiders of Lindsey Wilson College (LWC). After a rough start in the 1st half that had UC trailing at one point by 21 and at the break 39-24, UC knew they would have to play great basketball in the 2nd half to win.

UC would fight back to take the lead with 7 minutes to play in the contest. After a battle back and forth, it was UC coming out victorious as with time running down, Xavier Owens (Tampa, FL) would draw the foul with 0.4 seconds on the clock with the game tied at 64-64. He would hit the first of two free throws, giving LWC no opportunity at a shot to score as UC came out with the 65-64 win. With the win, UC moves to 21-9 on the season.


•The Patriots were led in the game by D'Lando Carter (Danville, IL) with 21 points, going 8-11 from the floor and 4-7 from three point range.
•Xavier Owens added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the win, including the game winning free throw.
•Tony Bradley (Alton, IL) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds.
•Chance Armstrong (Mt. Washington, KY) also scored 11 points and snagged 6 rebounds for UC.
•The Patriots shot 51.2% in the game, including 73.7% from the field in the 2nd half.
•Lindsey Wilson's D'on Hall led his team with 16 points and 6 rebounds.
