Billy Donovan Gets a Contract Extension at Florida

Florida has extended Billy Donovan's contract through the 2019-2020 season.

UF athletic director Jeremy Foley and Donovan agreed to the deal last summer, and Donovan signed it in December, according to UF. The Gainesville Sun reported the extension late Wednesday.

Donovan received a $250,000 signing bonus to push his salary to $4,208,334 this past season, when the Gators finished 16-17 to miss the postseason for the first time since 1998 - Donovan's second season in Gainesville.

Donovan's total compensation will remain $3,958,334 the next four seasons before reaching $4,000,334 in 2019-2020.

Donovan's average annual compensation was around $3.7 million prior to the new deal.
