Morehead State's Corban Collins to Travel with Athletes in Action

Morehead State guard Corban Collins will travel to New Zealand for an exhibition tour with Athletes in Action this summer.

Here are details of the trip from MSU:

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Corban Collins, who just completed his sophomore season with the Morehead State men's basketball program, will join the Athletes in Action for their upcoming New Zealand Tour. The squad is scheduled to leave the United States on July 30 and return on Aug. 16.

The team is scheduled to have four days of training camp in Los Angeles before playing several games overseas. AIA basketball teams have traveled to nearly every continent for exhibition contests since 1967. For more on the faith-based sports organization, visit

"I'm really happy Corban is getting this opportunity," Head Coach Sean Woods said. "It's great that he will be representing Morehead State men's basketball on an international stage. Corban is a mature player. He produces on both ends of the floor and can play either guard position."

Collins averaged 8.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 2014-15. The 6-foot-3 guard played in 30 contests, knocking down 39 percent from the field, 35 percent from three-point range and 79 percent from the foul line. His season high of 22 points came at No. 12/12 Ohio State.

"Corban had to shake off some rust at the beginning of the season (after sitting out in 2013-14), but became a regular contributor for us by the end of the year," Woods said. "Corban is works really hard on his game and that typically shows. He's a leader for our team, on and off the court."
