Western Kentucky Signs JUCO Forward Phabian Glasco

Western Kentucky University has signed junior college forward Phabian Glasco for the 2015-16 season.

Here's a release from WKU:

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Hilltopper Basketball head coach Ray Harper announced Friday the signing of Phabian Glasco (6-7, F, Tulsa, Okla.) to a National Letter of Intent to suit up for the Hilltoppers in 2015-16.

Glasco joins Marlon Hunter (G, 6-2, Memphis, Tenn.), Chris McNeal (G, 5-11, Jackson, Tenn.) and Fredrick Edmond (G, 6-3, Lansing, Mich.) as newcomers for the Hilltoppers next season. Glasco will have two years of eligibility, as will Edmond, and Hunter and McNeal will have four years of eligibility.

Glasco averaged 12.5 points and 10.6 rebounds per game this season as a sophomore at Connors State (Okla.) College in Warner, Okla., helping the Cowboys to a 32-2 record and a 17-0 conference mark. Glasco shot 63.5 percent from the field, which ranked 19th in the National Junior College Athletic Association. His total rebound figure of 359 was sixth-best in the nation, and he grabbed 127 offensive rebounds, good for seventh-best in the NJCAA.

Connors State had a school-record 30-game winning streak during the season and lost in the Elite Eight of the NJCAA Tournament.

Glasco played his freshman season of 2013-14 at Central Arkansas, where he contributed 5.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game over 27 outings and 20.8 minutes per contest.

He finished his high school career at Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa, where he was a Class 6A honorable mention selection as a senior after averaging 16 points and nine rebounds per outing.

Harper on Glasco

"Phabian is a tremendous rebounder and defender. He brings energy on the defensive end that will fit perfectly with what we are trying to do. He has great instincts defensively, which help him consistently be in the right place, and he can finish around the rim on offense. We cannot wait to get him on campus with the rest of our team."

The regular signing period runs through May 20.
