Benito Santiago Jr. is Headed to Uruguay

Former University of the Cumberlands forward Benito Santiago Jr. is headed for Uruguay for next season.

Santiago has signed with Atletico Bigua Montevideo in Uruguay's top-level LUB league.

In 47 games this summer, Santiago averaged 10.5 points and 3.4 rebounds per game for Atleticos de San German in Puerto Rico.

Atletico Bigua Montevideo (LUB) inked Puerto Rican forward Benito Santiago (198-95kg, college: Cumberlands). He played in the summer at Atleticos de San German in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 47 games he averaged 10.5ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.0apg.

Among other achievements Santiago's college team made it to the Puerto Rico Cano Jirao Cup final in 2013. He received also All-MSC 1st Team award in 2013. Santiago has played also professionally for other Puerto Rican teams like Maratonistas and Indios.

He graduated from University of the Cumberlands in 2013 and it will be his third season in pro basketball.
