Timmy Knipp Will Begin Professional Career in Germany

Former Eastern Kentucky University forward Timmy Knipp will begin his professional basketball career in Germany.

Knipp has signed with Bayer Giants Leverkusen in Germany's second-level Pro A league.

German Pro A team Bayer Giants Leverkusen have been very active in the last 48 hours reeling in top Pro B player Diante Watkins and today have hauled in rookie Timmy Knipp (201-G). Knipp is a 23 year old 201cm small forward/power forward from Olive Hill, Kentucky that played four years at E.Kentucky (NCAA). He burst out as a senior playing 32 games: averaging 10.4ppg, 3.8rpg, 1.8apg, 1.2bpg, FGP: 49.4%, 3PT: 38.6%, FT: 82.7%."He is a very versatile player and thanks to his athletcism can play the positions three and four. We have many opportunities in our offensive with his rebound effort and good shot", warned Bayer Giants head coach Achim Kuczmann.

In his senior season at Eastern Kentucky he scored in double figures 17 times. His best scoring game was 23 points in a 77-72 victory at Tennesse State. He is overjoyed about starting his professional basketball career in Germany. "A childhood dream has become true for me. I am thankful that the Bayer Giants gave me this chance and trust. I am looking forward to Leverkusen and the many expereinces that I will make in Germany. My biggest goal is to win as much games as possible", warned Timmy Knipp. Awards and achievements in his basketball career have been OVC East Division Regular Season Runner-Up -13, 14, OVC Tournament Semifinals -13, 15, OVC Tournament Winner -14, and OVC East Division Regular Season Co-Champion -15.
