Georgetown College Gives Davis-Reid Alumni Gym a New Look

Georgetown College has given Davis-Reid Alumni Gym a new finish for the upcoming season.

Here's a release from GC:

Davis-Reid Alumni Gym will have a brighter, fresher appearance this coming year as volleyball hits the floor on Sept. 1 against Campbellsville University.

Georgetown College Director of Athletics has worked hard this summer with Martin Flooring Company, one of the leaders in athletic floor installation and refinishing, to create the new look. The floor has been completely sanded down to remove all the previous lines. It was then painted with the lines and new GC Athletic logos giving it a clean, crisp feel.

"I'm really pleased with what we've been able to do," Evans said. "It looks like a whole new gym. We took out the darker finish of the wood; couple that with the paint and it pops for a much brighter look and feel. We also removed the NBA and other excessive lines that cluttered up the floor in past seasons."

Volleyball will christen it against rival Campbellsville, opening the 2015-16 year. Following that all the usual main home events including the Rumpke Invitational, Boneyard Brawl, Habitat Classic and Jim Reid Classic will showcase the new look.

Davis-Reid has had many transitions since opening in 1926, including a complete change in directions of the floor.
